Puerto Escondido · Oaxaca's Pacific coast

Find your side of Puerto.

A café morning in La Punta, a surf-focused day around Zicatela, a bay outing from Rinconada. Find the neighbourhood that fits your days — and the room that lets you rest when they are done.

One coast. Different ways to spend the day.

The coast, at street level

Choose the morning. Check the night.

Beach names describe places; they do not promise the same water, noise or walking routine. Start with the day you want to repeat.

Social evenings, a deliberate address

Explore La Punta and Zicatela when cafés, surf culture and evenings out are part of the plan. The particular street still decides the night.

Look closer

Ask about sound at the room, not only the neighbourhood label. Confirm the return from dinner and the beach approach; being near surf does not establish suitable swimming conditions.

A beach day, not a blanket promise

Compare your desired water activity with the actual bay and today's conditions. A famous surf beach and a family swimming day are different choices.

Look closer

Carrizalillo belongs in a bay comparison, but steps and access matter too. Check current beach guidance and your group's needs rather than choosing by the colour of the water in a photograph.

Stay longer, live more simply

For a longer stay, compare groceries, room comfort and journeys you will repeat. For a short visit, protect time by keeping the daily plan focused.

Look closer

Choose the services you need at the exact address. Ask about work-space and connection quality only if needed, with no assumption that every coastal rental can support remote work.

Places with a purpose

See the place. Understand the stay.

Different experiences, with guides that explain the location trade-offs rather than simply collecting landmarks.

A reason to linger

Let the season shape your stay

Choose the trip first, then match the address to the event. A recurring festival is not a confirmed programme for your dates.

Next programme not confirmed

Puerto Escondido · Fiestas de Noviembre

November · next edition's dates and venues to be checked

The municipality's linked announcement describes 2025, not a confirmed 2026 programme.

Choose the event venue before the beach address. Compare La Punta, Zicatela and Rinconada for the nights between activities; ask the property about room noise and arrange a return independently of any event listing.

Before you commit
  • Verify the edition, venue and admission terms with the organiser before booking non-refundable travel.
  • Compare the exact room, cancellation terms and the return journey after the event.
  • Leave the arrival or transfer day free of an essential event; a festival listing is not a transport guarantee.

Pins locate selected places, not routes, district boundaries or real-time conditions. Larger region and trip-type choices use example bases; open the linked comparison before choosing accommodation.

Start with the shape of your stay

La Punta

Cafés, sunset and social evenings; verify the exact street, road condition and noise.

Zicatela

Surf identity and nightlife; the famous waves do not make it a default swimming beach.

Rinconada / Carrizalillo

Restaurants and access to several smaller bays, with slopes and steps to consider.

Bacocho

Quieter, more resort-oriented stays with greater reliance on taxis or a vehicle.

Centro / Bahía Principal

Local services, markets and transport, useful for some trips but not the default beach answer.
